Cold Wax
Cold wax, in either paste or gel form, is applied to the skin without heating. However, most cold waxes are messy to apply (delivery from container to skin is difficult) and thickness of application cannot be controlled. The colder the room temperature, the more difficult the application and removal; what’s more, the product is not in contact with the skin long enough to be warmed to maximum effectiveness.
Wax Strips
The wax strip system–or instant waxing–offers a convenient, quick, “no mess, no fuss” method of hair removal that requires no preparation. There are several different types of instant wax strips. Genuine wax strips grip the hair; when you pull them off, the area can remain hair-free for up to eight weeks. Some so-called wax strips are not wax at all, but rather chemicals that form a kind of gel. Their delivery can be impeded by changes in temperature and they do not effectively grip the hair.
